Andy Chen joined SMPH in 2015 after earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin School of Law. Before moving to Wisconsin, he was a lab technician at Rutgers University (the state university of his homeland, the Garden State). He studied Biology at Tufts University. Andy is presently the SMPH Research Contracts Manager, overseeing compliance and contracting issues. When not lending his expertise in contracting and compliance to the hundreds of PI’s and Administrators he has befriended over the years, you can find him clearing a path through his not so friendly neighborhood rafter of turkeys. He’s passionate about science, art, elite track and field, and the University of Wisconsin.

Helena Oddo is a Contracts Specialist on the SMPH Contracts Team, and has been with the team since December 2023. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School and practiced family law prior to joining SMPH. She earned her undergraduate degree in History and Environmental Science from Macalester University. Helena is a longtime Madisonian, and happily returned to the city after that brief foray into Minnesota.

A coffee enthusiast, Helena can tell you the best spots in the city to obtain a great brew.

Ben Tiller is a seasoned attorney with a background in bankruptcy and government law, having practiced in Montana before joining the University of Wisconsin in 2020. Ben received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and his B.A. in Communications, Writing, and English from Western Colorado University. Ben leads the SMPH Contracts Team in drafting and negotiating agreements with industry partners. He is a proud Brittany Spaniel owner and hockey dad – in that order.
